Kathryn Lawryszek

Attorney

Kathryn Lawryszek is our divorce and family law attorney. She also litigates the civil litigation cases. Kathryn attended law school in Baltimore, and then worked a few years for a very large financial services company. She found out she really wanted to get into the courtroom instead of the office, and we were lucky to hire her. In law school, Kathryn worked on legislative- and community-based advocacy projects and interned in her hometown’s Commonwealth Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigration Services. Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, she nows lives in Waldorf.

About Kathryn

Kathryn Lawryszek is an associate attorney at Andrews, Bongar, and Gormley & Clagett. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland School of Law. She focuses on family law and civil litigation. She co-wrote our Free Legal Guide to Divorce and our Free Legal Guide to Child Custody with Nasheia Smith.

Kathryn wanted to be a lawyer since her days in debate club in high school. She loves winning the debate, which is essentially what a trial is. She also loved the robust debates in the Jefferson Society while in college at UVA.

These past experiences have strengthened her intent to practice law with a thorough, client-centered approach grounded in the community her firm serves.

After law school, Kathryn worked in the financial world. But she soon decided that she really wanted to be in the courtroom – debating again. She is very good at it. We are very lucky to be the place she chose to land.

Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, she now lives in Waldorf. She enjoys long runs, long reads, all manner of outdoor activities, and mountain views.

Community Involvement

In law school, Kathryn worked on legislative- and community-based advocacy projects in the Erin Levitas Initiative for Sexual Assault Prevention. She also worked in clinics on incarceration issues. She is the daughter of a Polish immigrant, and spent several summers interning in her hometown’s Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigration Services.
