At Andrews, Bongar, Gormley & Clagett, our paralegal team is trained to solve your day to day problems and make your case as smooth as possible. And, our staff promises to give you the best customer service. You will talk to the paralegals a lot by phone, so we thought you should have an idea who they are! Here is our staff in alphabetical order.
Amanda started with us fresh out of paralegal school, and boy are we glad we hired her way back then! She handles personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, as well as litigation support. Amanda actually lives out of state and works remotely. Her husband is in the Air Force and was stationed in Oklahoma. We decided to use technology to keep her with us, and it has paid off wonderfully! The only downside is that we don’t get to experience her pleasant personality live and in person every day.
Andrea is our receptionist. She also takes time away from the front desk to serve as our family law paralegal. Andrea is quick with a smile and generally seems to be always happy. Andrea grew up in Northern Virginia, but now lives here in Waldorf. She plans to go to college soon for legal studies and business.
Ashley is our litigation support paralegal. She works primarily for the personal injury and workers’ compensation departments. She also assists the family law department, which is where she started when she first came to our firm. She grew up in La Plata, and has worked in other local law firms in the past. You may recognize her if you have ever been to Ledo’s Pizza in La Plata, where she is a manager and long time employee.
Christy is our bookkeeper. This is actually her second stint with us. She was our bookkeeper several years ago. Just when she thought she was out, we pulled her back in! Christy has lived in Charles County all of her life and has raised her own family right here. When Christy isn’t keeping our finances straight, she is teaching spin class at a local gym.
Jasmine assists Melissa and Ryan with civil litigation and collection efforts, and assists Louise with bankruptcy matters. Jasmine joined our firm in the fall of 2015 after spending nearly ten years in customer service. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing. She still has hopes and dreams of becoming a published author. Initially, Jasmine was our back-up receptionist. Over time, her duties expanded. Jasmine currently lives in Waldorf.
Louise has been with the firm for a little over 11 years. She handles bankruptcy administration and estates for Dave Gormley. She has 20+ years of experience in the field of bankruptcy law. Prior to joining the firm, she was the lead paralegal for a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee in Maryland for 9 years.
Melissa is our paralegal for HOA management, civil litigation, and criminal law. She earned her degree in Paralegal Studies from National Paralegal College. She works on civil litigation matters, corporate accounts, and the collection efforts within the office. She also works on the criminal law matters. Melissa is originally from northeastern Ohio and is a big Cleveland Cavaliers fan.
Vicki is the Licensed Settlement Agent that handles our real estate settlements. She has been in the title/mortgage industry for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her department. She truly enjoys her role in the home buying process and appreciates that she is able to take a small part in assisting with such an important part of the lives of her clients. When she’s not handling settlements, she is participating in community charity events, raising a young son and supporting her family in all of their endeavors. She has lived in the local area for the majority of her life and is a 1993 graduate of the University of MD College Park.
